Music Monday - Break up songs.

Break ups suck.  Music can be therapeutic.  Here are some options for your free therapy post break up.  I try to address the various stages of feelings after a break up.

5 - Toni Braxton - Unbreak My Heart
This, of course, addresses the sadness.

4 -Ben Folds - Song for the Dumped
This is the anger being addressed.  Also, this has bad language, so don't click it if that offends you.

3 -The Ataris - In This Diary
This is for when you're weirdly nostalgic.

2 - Missy Higgins - Where I Stood
because moving on is hard, even when you know you should.
I can't embed this one, but here's a link:  http://youtu.be/c9QNRvXH1HI

1 - Beyonce - Irreplaceable
over it, and done.

There are so many great break up songs, but I'm out of practice with these bc I've been together for so long.  What are your go to break up therapy songs?  Oh, and Happy Halloween!  Cheers!

Pinterest Thursday -- Pallets!

If you're on pinterest, you know that pallets are all the rage. They're the ultimate upcycle.

This makes me a little upset because it works under the assumption that we all have access to wooden pallets. I do not. If you or someone you know does though, here are some cool things you can do with it.

5 - DIY art on a pallet instead of a canvas
This is the one I saved, but there were lots of great options.  I particularly loved the ones with quotations and scripture.

4 -  Wall Gallery
Another type of wall art, keep frames displayed beautifully here.

3 - Casual seating set up.
Add cushions, pillows and a throw, and voila!

2 - Rolling coffee table.
They show several coffee table variations.  Here is one of them.

1 - Rustic headboard.
Love.  this.  headboard.

Music Actually on a Monday!

Guess who is actually doing things when they should be done? That's right, me.

Let's get right to it. Here are some songs that I am obsessed with lately.

5 - Lady Antebellum - We Own the Night
I actually bought this CD (they still make those), and I love it. It has been playing in my car consistently since the purchase.

4 -Jack's Mannequin - My Racing Thoughts
I lied. I have listened to more than just Lady Antebellum this week. Though it dominated my car radio listening, I've also been on Alt Nation a lot, and this has been getting more play, and I'm into it.

3 - Gaslight Anthem - American Slang
This song is not new, but it has been growing on me more.

2 - Foster the People - Pumped up Kicks (Live Acoustic at SiriusXM)
This is my favorite version of this song.

1 - Gym Class Heroes & Adam Levine - Stereo Hearts
love it.

What are you listening to right now? Hope it is something to make the week go by quickly. Cheers!

30 before 30 update.

I'm actively working on some things I've already put on my list, but in the meantime, here's another five:

20 - ease up on the profanity.   perhaps even stop using it all together.
recently, while watching the kardashians (yes, i'm ashamed), i became very aware of how trashy they come off because of a lot of the things that come out of their mouth.

19 - go to europe.
i've never been, so i'm not picky about where to go in europe, but i know that i want to go to there.  please leave me suggestions to specifics about this.
18 - go to nyc.
yes, we've entered the travel section of our list.  i've been to d.c. several times, and loved them all.  i really want to go to nyc though, so that is something that needs to happen asap.

17 - go to california.
i promise this is the last of the go-to's on the list.  i just want to go live the west coast life for a second.  play in the pacific, eat healthy food, feel insecure because everyone around me is thin/blond/fake.

 16 - new bed/bedroom furniture
see, i told you i wasn't going to say go to anywhere next.  i don't know what i want here, but i know that at some point in the next few years, i want something different, and less dark.

That's a pretty good new group for the list, more to come soon though.  Cheers!

Music & Pinterest - A combo this week

I'm still doing horribly about staying on the blog.  I'll get to a 30 by 30 update later this week, but for now, I'm going to catch up with you guys on pinterest and music.

First, pinterest - my focus this week was low-carb recipes because I live the low-carb lifestyle (or try to) right now.

I made a great and spicy taco soup recipe this week, so I decided to share with you:

You can get the recipe here.

Now, I haven't tried these two, but they look delicious.  links to the recipes will be below the pictures.

"pasta" salad - go here.

parmesan crusted chicken - go here

Okay, now, here's some music:

I was driving on Saturday a good bit, and it made me happy to go back to some hits from the 90s.

Here are a few that appealed to me.

3. Nada Surf - Popular
I originally discovered this magic on a compilation cd that I purchased for myself called MTV Buzzhits. Still love it.

2. Cake - Short Skirt, Long Jacket love.

1. Blink 182 - First Date
love this & them.

So, this was a catch up week, but I hope you love it! Cheers!

Fall Nail Polish

I'm not sure what my obsession with nail polish is about. I've written multiple blogs featuring nail polish, so now that it's a thing, I'm just going to go with it. That being said, here're some of my favorite fall nail happenings. I've already mentioned the Espresso color by OPI, so I'm not going to go into that again, but otherwise, there are some nice subdued purples, grays, teals and even pinks that are amazing this fall! I'm mostly into the grays, browns and purples, but really, they're all awesome.

Here's a peek at Essie's fall line:

My favorite in this line is definitely the gray, but I also love the cinnamon color and the berry color for something classic.

Here's a few MAC colors that are very lovely for fall:

I love all three of these deeply, but my favorite is that gold/brown in the middle.  Adore it.

Also, Target's Sonia Kashuk line has a wonderful fall collection:

Again, I love the gray and brown, but the darker pink is pretty sweet too.  Some might even call it sugar (shout out to JBW).

What are your go-to nail colors for the season?  Do you wear the same year round?  Do you even care about nail polish as much as I do?

Cheers!

Music Monday (on Wednesday)

My schedule is obviously messed up.  I'll try to make sure I get pinterest thursday up on time tomorrow.

Anyways, here are some of the jams I'm enjoying lately.

5 - Up Up UP by The Givers
This song always gets stuck in my head.

4 - Thieves by She & Him My recent obsession with The New Girl has brought this jam back into my life.
I'm not mad about it.

3 - On by Jubee & The Morning After Duh, I support macon music. And they'll be on Jimmy Kimmel on the 25th. Watch out.

2 - Ave Maria by Beyonce This is not a real video, but I just love this song so much.

1 - Don't Speak by No Doubt I decided to throw it back because this is amazing. This song/video got me hooked on No Doubt and makes me disappointed in what Gwen Stefani has become. Let's just act like we're still in these times. Also, I've been listening to the No Doubt greatest hits album lately. Tragic Kingdom is better.

Got any music recommendations for me? Please leave them in the comments. Cheers!

30 by 30 pt. 2

25 - go to a zumba class.

I've heard they're fun.  This shouldn't be difficult to do.

24 - learn spanish the rest of the way.
you know, in my free time.

23 - change my sleep schedule.
i need to go to bed earlier.  i have to wake up early.

22 - sing somewhere other than a wedding, my house/car and karaoke.

perhaps i shall join the choir.  or start a band?

21 - become a better cook.
i've already started trying some new recipes, so we're working on getting there.

So, this group wasn't crazy hard, but still, things that need to get done.  Cheers to accomplishing some of these!
